We caught up with B-Girl Madeline Rodriguez aka Nightstorm while she was on the road with Red Bull Dance Your Style.

B-Girl Nightstorm - Generation X Crew PR

She started breaking in 2012 with the Generation X Crew. At the time, she was performing in talent shows, commercials, and television shows. In 2013 she began doing battles and representing the crew around the island. This was just the beginning by 2016 she decided to move forward and go to the States to elevate herself and craft a life for her art. Not only is she a B-Girl and a Popper but she also practices Waacking, House Dancing, Dancehall, The Charleston, and Voguing on top of all that she has found what helps her dance and move is to control the music. She began to DJ in 2020 which she is now loving this artform. Finding a new way to further the culture. Her Main goal is to Inspire others by sharing her gifts and hopefully one day opening a dance school

The crew was founded in 2010 by Alex D' Element. They started on the streets of Guayama, Puerto Rico to help the community and to keep the youth out of trouble. Ultimately the goal was to help create a better environment by teaching the people how to train their bodies in movement. Utilizing many different styles of dance Including Breaking, Whacking, Popping, Housing, Dancehall, Vogue, Krumping, & Choreo Along with Boxing, gymnastics, and martial arts. But most importantly are the lessons on being better Human Beings and working hard to achieve their goals. Generation X Crew has over 200 members worldwide and growing.

We've Noticed Generation X crew being extremely active lately in Puerto Rico and in the Mainland US. We asked Nightstorm where she saw the crew going in the next few years: "Traveling more and opening a big facility for the community in Guayama Puerto Rico"

Nightstorm is very passionate about representing her crew and her Island of Puerto Rico everywhere she goes so we had to ask her what her favorite Puerto Rican Dish was that she felt that everyone needed to try and I figured she was gonna go with Mofongo but I was wrong she said :"Arroz con Gandules Pernil & pasteles"

Nightstorm spends 2 hours a day 3-5 days a week  practicing and sharpening her craft, So we asked her if she had any advice for the up and coming DJ's and Dancers?

"There will be a hard moments but push yourself to do your best and never give up, you can do so much more!. Believe in you and what you got.

-Love Nightstorm"

After talking to Nightstorm I realized even though shes somewhat new school in this Hip-Hop scene from a generation that sometimes I feel is lost, she is a beacon of light and has a passion of giving to others and concern for her community and by her actions goes by the old African-American proverb "Each One Teach One" which was instilled into the foundation of what Hip-Hop is. Many from past generations that have been caught up in their fame could learn a lesson or two from her and The Generation X Crew. Much Props to her the Crew and to Alex D' Element for establishing a crew on a solid foundation.  We look forward to seeing what's next for the Generation X Crew and Nightstorm.
