Red Bull BC One Cypher USA 2026 champions B-Girl Blondie and B-Boy Victor holding their winner trophies in San Diego

Red Bull BC One World Final 2026: Toronto Preview and the USA Champs Heading North

November 29. Toronto. The 23rd Red Bull BC One World Final, and the first one ever on Canadian soil. Repping the USA: B-Girl Blondie and B-Boy Victor, both crowned in San Diego this summer.

Where and when

It goes down at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, 50 Carlton Street in downtown Toronto. That's the old Maple Leaf Gardens, the famous hockey arena, turned into the biggest breaking floor on the planet for one night.

If you don't already have a ticket, you're out of luck. Red Bull lists the World Final as sold out. Watch Red Bull BC One's official page and socials for how to tune in.

The night before, November 28, is the Last Chance Cypher. One more shot to battle your way onto the main stage.

Team USA: Blondie and Victor

The USA spots got settled August 22 at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier in San Diego. Sixteen b-boys, sixteen b-girls, all coming out of qualifiers in cities like Denver and Seattle.

Victor needs no intro. Two BC One world titles (Rome 2015, New York 2022), Olympic bronze in Paris, and now a third USA title after taking out Jeffro in the final. He said afterward he went in focused on technique and originality, and it showed. Less leaning on the safe stuff, more improvising, more risk.

Blondie came out of Las Vegas and put the whole bracket on notice. Power and freezes all night, then a final against Randi, another BC One vet. Breakthrough season, breakthrough win.

The judges' table was stacked: El Niño out of Boston, Ayu from Japan, and Hong 10 from South Korea, a three-time BC One world champ. Xzibit performed live. Red Bull's full recap of the night is here.

Who they're up against

Last year in Tokyo, Issin from Japan took the b-boy belt and Riko took the b-girl title. Qualifiers have been running all year, from Kazakhstan to Spain to Germany to the Netherlands to India.

Canada's national final sent B-Boy Stray Curt and B-Girl Tiff to the Last Chance Cypher, so they still have a shot.

And Canada has Phil Wizard, Olympic gold in Paris, who's been touring the country with the BC One All Stars ahead of the final. Home floor, home crowd. Expect it to be loud.

Never forget where it came from

Arenas, Olympics, sold-out world finals. But this dance was built in the Bronx in the 1970s by Black and Latino kids at block parties, dancing to the break, the part of the record where the drums take over. DJ Kool Herc kept those breaks going on two turntables, and the b-boys and b-girls took it from there. BC One has been part of the story since 2004. The roots are still the roots.

The Panic 39 take: from concrete to polished floors

By Don Landrum, Panic 39

Breaking has come a long way, from asphalt and concrete to polished dance floors and studios. One part of that makes me feel good: the dance is finally getting its shine.

But I don't feel like the new generation is from the street the way the previous generations were. They didn't have to go through the same struggles. In some ways that's a good thing. But the dance does lose a little bit of its culture, and where it came from, along the way.

New to breaking? Start here

If you're not from the scene, here's what you need to know to follow along:

  • B-boy / b-girl: a breaker. The "b" stands for break, from dancing to the breaks in the music.
  • Breaking vs. "breakdancing": same dance. People in the scene call it breaking. "Breakdancing" is the name TV and magazines made popular in the '80s.
  • Cypher: the circle where dancers take turns going in. Red Bull also uses the word for its qualifying events.
  • Toprock: dancing on your feet, usually how a round starts.
  • Footwork: fast, low steps with your hands on the floor.
  • Power moves: spins and rotations, like windmills and flares.
  • Freezes: stopping hard and holding a pose, often on your hands or head.

BC One is all one-on-one. Two breakers take turns, and a panel of judges picks who moves on. No crew to back you up.
